CALIBRE HISTORY

Raketa
2609.H

The Raketa 2609.НП corresponds to a so-called increased precision version of the 2609 family. It is a manually wound mechanical caliber from the Petrodvorets watch manufacture, from the Raketa 2609 family. It features a classic three-hand display with central seconds. Records indicate 19-jewel variants. The Wind Rose belongs to a family of Raketa designed to give a mechanical watch a directly usable function. The dial actually contains three reading systems It's also more sophisticated than you might think at first glance. The outer circle with 0, 30, 60… 330° corresponds to the orientation in degrees. This ring is normally controlled by the second crown located around 4 o'clock. Then you have the conventional time 1–12 in large black numbers. And on the inner red circle you have the hours 13 to 24. For example 18 opposite 6 o'clock, 21 opposite 9 o'clock and 24 opposite noon. Finally, the large red and blue rose serves as a directional marker. So it’s a pretty brilliant combination of 12-hour watch + 24-hour conversion + compass rose + 360° protractor, without any particular mechanical complications.
